I’ve had an accident – What do I do?

A good way to remember what to do in the event of an accident is to put the "MAAS" plan in action. You can apply this whether you are directly involved or a passenger or observer.

M Make the scene safe
A Assess and ask if anyone is injured
A Assist injured people
S Send for help – call 000

000 is the emergency services number in Australia.

However, if you find yourself out of your mobile phone networks coverage area, dial “112” to contact the international mobile emergency number and your mobile will search any existing network to establish the emergency number for you. This will even work if your mobile phone is locked.
